This year marks the 10th anniversary of celebrating the Day of the Seafarer and it continues to be an important day for focus on working conditions for seafarers,
in line with the International Maritime Labour Convention.
Calling for a fair future for seafarers, IMO’s campaign is encouraging governments to support seafarers amid the pandemic and in the post-pandemic future.
Providing seafarers and their families with medical health care coverage is a small step in the right direction, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
