7 creative ways to spend your free time on board

Entertainment positively affects the mental health of seafarers and acts as a fairly effective tool for team building.

With many crews staying at sea beyond the limits of their contracts in the midst of the ongoing crisis, we have put together some activities that make the daily routine of crews on board a little more enjoyable!

Even though life on board is quite different from life on land, there are some activities you can incorporate into your routine to feel more connected to your coworkers or yourself:

1. Play board games: Cards, chess, billiards, backgammon are available options for relaxing time with others.
2. Have a sports day: What's better for your mood and body than a basketball game on Sundays?
3. Play Ping-Pong: Social sports keep our brains sharp and also improve our reflexes.
4. Watch movies and sports games: Watching a movie with others multiplies its value and causes all kinds of emotions.
5. Listen to music: Very simple to do, but it raises the mood, removes stress, and makes you happier.
6. Play video games: A common activity with multiple benefits of cognitive and group links.
7. Go to the gym: With friends or not, exercise reduces depression and improves well-being.
