Greece is still at a very low to moderate level of epidemiological burden SARS-COV-2, according to the current assessment of European countries by the European Center for Disease Control (ECDC) on the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic.
The complex indicator used by the European Center reflects both the rate of spread of the disease and its penetration potential in the community.
Specifically, southern Greece, eastern Macedonia and Thrace are at very low risk. Attica, along with the rest of central Greece, Macedonia and Epirus are characterized as moderate risk, while only certain areas of Central Macedonia have been characterized as high risk.
In contrast to Greece, the vast majority of European countries are characterized as countries of high epidemiological risk, with the exception of some countries of central-northern Europe where they are of moderate risk.
