Nearly one in 10 British consumers want to go on holiday abroad as soon as possible or say they will be able to travel abroad before the end of the year, according to a Travel Weekly survey.
A survey by Service Science and Kantar in May found that 31% of UK adults plan to take a holiday abroad by April next year, but only 15% of them - or just 5% of the adult population - will "travel at the first chance".
An additional 15% felt "reassured" that they could go on holiday abroad before the end of the year.
Nearly one in three potential holidaymakers (30%) intended to "wait and see" how the traffic light system for international travel before booking is being developed, while an additional one in four (26%) said it was "unlikely" to travel to abroad vacation “while the traffic light system is in place” or was unsure of the requirements for travel.
The rest of the British consumers just did not know when they could book or travel.
The findings suggest significant doubt and concern among consumers even before the government removes Portugal from the green list of destinations in early June.
