Those who travel by plane from Malta will have to enter Greece with a negative Covid-19 test, from next Wednesday, August 12, until Saturday, August 15, 2020.
This is provided for in the new aviation directive (notam) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The Covid-19 test will be performed up to 72 hours before their arrival and passengers are required to show the Greek inspection authorities a negative molecular test result (PCR) for Covid-19 from a certified diagnostic center, in English, which will include their passport or identity details.
Airlines must check whether passengers have a negative certificate before the flight, as its absence obliges the airline not to let the passenger embark. Airlines that do not comply with this control obligation will be responsible for covering the expenses of the repatriation of passengers.
At the same time, the obligation to complete the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) before arrival in Greece remains in force.
