Greece's platform for free random Covid-19 testing

Greece’s health authorities have informed of a new government-run platform that will give citizens the chance to get tested at no cost.

The new platform is expected to help improve the epidemiological state of the country and control the spread of Covid-19.

Scheduled to launch on December 21, the platform will be accessible through the website testing.gov.gr.

Those interested in getting tested for the coronavirus can fill out an online application form and then wait to be chosen by the system at random.

Those selected will receive an sms on their cell phone with useful information for their appointment (which testing site to visit and the time).

The first group of 12,000 people selected at random will be notified via sms on Saturday, December 26, with the first appointments taking place on Monday, December 28.
