Greece is steadily evolving into a luxury destination, with more and more boat lovers choosing to sail in Greek waters.
According to a Bloomberg article, Greece is among the countries that attract more super yachts this year despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
More specifically, according to data reported by Bloomberg, 145 super yachts sailed Greek seas in August and 135 in July, compared to 132 in August 2019.
According to the report, luxury boat owners seem to be choosing new berths based on the safety of the Covid-19, leaving behind traditional destinations such as Spain, which has seen the largest drop in boats to date.
Indicatively in 2019, Greece was the third most popular charter destination in the world, representing 17% of the global boat market after Southern France (20%) and Italy (19%).
